Earlier on this blog site, I talked about obsessions and you can find that article here. I found that sadly or happily, whichever way you look at it, I have two more.
Reefs and Converse
Reef flip flops, which my love for Reefs has been happening for years. I think since right after college. And we all know that has been a few years. I am sure my first pair I got were black because I now own 3 pairs and my first pair is long gone. I have this issue with getting a black pair and keeping the old ones. You know one for outside, one for just in case and the one you wear presently, which I include as my “fancy” black flops. Don’t judge. You’re just upset because you didn’t think of it first. Or your mama’s voice is in your head say no no no.
Now, we address the other colors. Well, who knows when you need a camo flip flop. Everyone needs a pair. The red, white and blue? It gets worn the whole week of 4th of July and on Memorial Day. Justified. Red, it’s my favorite color. Enough said. Brown, everyone needs brown, but I am not sure I need 2 pairs. I am really a black flip flop girl.
Not a lot to say here. I only have 3 pairs. But there’s a reason. I can’t stand to tie tennis shoes. There is some sensory disorder that I wasn’t diagnosed with because they didn’t do that in the ’70s. Your parents just said get over it. Because I also have an issue with tags, but this blog isn’t about my life issues other than my obsessions. I love love love the converse that slips on. My first pair were the pink pair that has Dr. Seus on them. I love them. Then I had to get a black pair to wear because I can’t wear my black reefs in the winter. Duh. Then last year at Christmas, I saw the gray pair and had to have them. I would suggest them to anyone. They are amazingly comfortable.
Ok, so I am going to work through emotionally giving up some of my Reefs because let’s be honest. No one needs 9 pairs of the same type of flip flops. I am gonna work on it. Probably. Most likely. I am.
Thanks for reading my rant about my obsessions and not expecting every blog to be a big spiritual thing.
P.S. I was not paid by Reef or Converse to write this blog. This is my personal opinion and ideas.
